As part of our commitment to being a responsible business, we recently completed a thorough assessment of our business sustainability practices through EcoVadis, the global standard for business sustainability ratings.
Obelisk received a silver medal for its sustainability practices, placing our business within the top 25% of companies assessed in the programme. More than 85,000 companies globally have been rated by EcoVadis.
The assessments includes 21 sustainability criteria across four core themes: Environment, Ethics, Labour and Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement.
We have embedded sustainability ambitions into the core of our business and begun the journey of adapting all operational practices and are proud to have obtained this medal as acknowledgement of our efforts to date.
Obelisk CEO, Ronnie Delaney comments, “The Obelisk team is delighted to be awarded a Silver medal from EcoVadis, a global leader for sustainability ratings, in the assessment in how we are embedding sustainability into our business.
This recognition demonstrates our progress to existing and new clients, to assist growth ambitions both locally and internationally, leveraging on the benefits sustainability through increased opportunities and the deepening of client relationships. The work done by our people demonstrates the commitment to our sustainability strategy to be a more responsible company that’s delivering services for our clients for the benefit of people, planet and communities in which we operate.”
This medal does not mean we don’t have room for improvement or any potential weaknesses in our sustainability practices. It serves as an indicator of positive intent as we continue to strive to improve our sustainability management performance.
We want every step to be one towards creating a better future for our employees, clients, families, communities and all our stakeholders, ultimately achieving a net-positive impact in each of our operating markets.
