New appointment marks Obelisk's achievement of 50:50 gender balance within Senior Leadership Team

Obelisk Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Lorna Traynor as Head of Finance. The move will see Lorna overseeing all financial elements of the business across UK and Ireland as she becomes a core member of the executive leadership team and helps to deliver Obelisk’s five-year growth plan.

Having first joined Obelisk in 2019, Lorna brings 17 years of multinational experience to the role, spanning several industries including manufacturing, hospitality and financial services. With a wealth of experience in Finance Operations, Lorna will help guide the Obelisk team to strive for continued innovation, improvement and process enhancement.

To date, Obelisk’s growth has been underpinned by the rollout of a committed sales pipeline, which achieved a turnover of €36 million in 2021. This was followed by the company’s acquisition by Constructel Visabeira earlier this year – a leading company in the global telecommunications and energy networks engineering sector, and a subsidiary of multinational and multi-sector holding company, Grupo Visabeira.

As a result, with further diversification of services and expansion across international markets, Lorna will oversee Obelisk’s clear growth plans to achieving an annual turnover of an estimated €60.2 million by 2026.

Speaking on the recent appointment, Lorna comments, “I am thrilled to join Obelisk’s executive team as Head of Finance. Working with the company over the past three years and helping to maintain and deliver the business’ core financial strategy during that time, I believe now is the time to further elevate Obelisk’s position as the trusted partner of choice for our clients and to accelerate our growth plans with strong leadership, solid controls and a drive to get things done. I look forward to this new challenge and supporting the team through its exciting next steps.”

Lorna's recent appointment has also helped the company to achieve a 50:50 gender balance among its leadership team, further demonstrates Obelisk’s commitment as an equal opportunity employer and providing pathways for more female representation at a senior level within the organisation and wider industry.

Obelisk CEO, Ronnie Delaney comments, “We are delighted that Lorna is joining the Executive team and bringing a wealth of experience to help us on our strategic journey. Lorna’s appointment continues to demonstrate our commitment to the UN SDG Ambition benchmark of achieving Gender Balance at all levels of management. As a responsible employer, we will continue to support all genders in our company and create equal opportunities for all, no matter how your gender is identified.”
