Hi All, my name is Adrian Ene and I have been a Deployment Manager with Obelisk for a year now. My busy role gives me full responsibility to deliver projects for our clients on behalf of the Account Manager. The work is deadline driven and fast paced, see below what a typical day looks like for me.
The morning begins with a check in with our PICW on site to get an update on new sites and ones already nearing completion. Once all this information is gathered, I then join a conference call with the project team to clarify job progress.
Each week as part of the programme there are new site builds so after the morning rush, I start reviewing the next few scheduled jobs and order any free issue kit, consumables or steel required. Items required can vary from antennas, fibres, clamps or feeders so constant communication between suppliers and our logistics teams are vitally important for forward planning. The aim is to ensure jobs are completed right first time and on budget.
After lunch it’s time for a scheduling call to decide on resources needed for the coming days, this process is made easier by our Fleet and Scheduling Supervisor who is always on the other end of the phone to assist with last minute changes.
I regularly join our crews on site not only to complete Health and Safety audits but also to have a presence on site for any issues the crews or client may have. The main challenge of the role is to keep delivering the same amount of sites/upgrades each week regardless of events outside of my control like access issues, heavy rain, or storms.
I have been in Project Manager roles for the last 5 years and the fact that no two days are the same is what keeps the job interesting. I have a great team in Obelisk with a wealth of knowledge which makes it much easier to get the job done.
